Young Ambassadors
Every School Sport Partnership has again been invited to nominate Young Olympic Ambassadors to take over the role from last years ambassadors. Rawmarsh School Sport Partnership was able to nominate 4 youngsters to be part of the initiative. Sue Cooper the Partnership Development Manager and several School Sport Coordinators interviewed eight candidates from schools within the partnership. Each of the following students was successful in their interviews and was selected to represent the Partnership. Perry Foster, Sarah Chedzoy, Chris Badger and Jack Lupton have since attended training by Youth Sport Trust at York Racecourse. Their role is now to promote the Olympic and Paralympic movement by promoting the Olympic ethos in our Partnership schools.
Several of the Olympic Ambassadors have been chosen because of their leadership skills and others because they are elite athletes. They are hoping to motivate other young children to become involved in the Olympic Movement as either a performer or a leader.
So far the Ambassadors have attended meetings to plan their work, they have presented awards to the pupils of St Michaels Primary School, who showed their fantastic ballroom dancing skills to promote our Families Come Dancing Project and have also showed their Olympic ideals presentation in several school assemblies.
Please contact Rawmarsh School Sport Partnership office if you would like the Olympic Ambassadors to visit your school.
